LAHORE – The PTI will not take part in any of the bye-polls and will focus only on the general elections, as the polls can be held earlier instead of 2013, say PTI leaders. The proposal for not taking part in the bye-polls came during the first meeting of PTI’s political committee with Mian Muhammad Azhar in the chair at his residence on Saturday.
President PTI Punjab, Ahsan Rasheed and members of the committee were also present in the meeting. The committee was of the view that PTI would not join hands with APML of Pervez Musharraf, owing to crimes against the nation and state during his rule.
They claimed that 40 million bogus votes have been cancelled due to the efforts of the party’s efforts in this direction, while 35 million new voters have been registered, adding that new voters for bringing a change would vote for the PTI in next elections.  PTI leaders said that party would award tickets after the clearance. Meanwhile, a meeting of the PTI provincial constituencies’ organisers for Lahore under the leadership of Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed decided to launch ‘health and cleanliness drive’ in the provincial metropolis at the end of this month. The meeting of the City Chapter also reviewed the performance of various party wings dealing with the provincial capital.
Mehmood directed all the organisers to complete the organisational work at mohalla level in two months. Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Murad Raas, Kamil Umer, Abdul Rasheed Bhatti, Javed Awan, Ishtiaq Malik and other party leaders were also present in the meeting.
