ISLAMABAD - The economic experts have underlined the need for making decisions keeping in view Pakistan’s best interests vis-à-vis its geo-political and economic relations with global players and international financial institutions.

They were commenting on the statement of the Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh during the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security in which the Minister was quoted as saying that Pakistan may face isolation on the economic front if drastic steps are taken during the reviewing of bilateral ties with the United States.

Talking to APP, Former Finance Minister Dr Salman Shah said that Pakistan should deal with other countries keeping in view its best national interest.

“We have no direct confrontation with the US. We should also avoid any aggressive attitude while maintaining our relations with other important capitals”.

Zahid Mazbool said before defining relations with any country, Pakistan should keep its own economic interest on top priority.
