KARACHI - The provincial government has increased the grants upto Rs2 million for Sindh Scouts, while it is making efforts to take special grant of Rs5 million from Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad.

Scouts’ Units will be formed in the public schools and colleges across the province, while the role of scouts in case of emergency is being defined, said Sindh Secretary Education Siddique Memon.

Speaking at a meeting, held on Saturday at the provincial scouts’ headquarter, he said the scouts would be trained properly, while SMC funds will be used for this purpose.

“Special funds will be released for scouting activities and special seminars will also be arranged for distribution of awards among the scouts at the provincial level.”      

The Provincial Scouts’ Secretary Akhtar Mir said that 8th Sindh Scouts Camp would be organised here in April.

The meeting was attended by the Provincial Scouts’ Secretary Akhtar Mir, Additional Secretary Abdur Rehman, Director General Colleges Dr Nasir Ansar and DO Education Karachi Sajin Mallah.

The government has already approved Rs66.063 million for promotion of Sindh Scouts Department on account of 2011-12 development schemes.
