MULTAN - Punjab Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsan Uddin Quresi has said that country’s youth are full of energy, capabilities and skill but the rotting system is pushing them towards hopelessness.

Addressing the participants of a function organised by Rohi Development Organization here at Government Islamia High School Daulat Gate on Saturday, the minister added that the provincial government was striving hard to create new job opportunities for the youngsters.

He said that the government had launched a number of programmes to provide facilities to the students of government schools as development projects were underway in the educational institutions of Multan. He said that the government would launch new projects in education sector to boost literacy rate in the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj (r) Mujeeb and others said that the education system was on decline since long and nothing was being done for the uplift this important sector.

They stressed the need for introducing uniform education system in the country so that the poor but brilliant students could come forward. They asked NGO to step forward and play their role for steering the country out of prevailing crisis.

Later on, as many as 16 brilliant students were granted Rohi Talent Scholarship while another 55 were given uniform.

Body found: A body of an old man was recovered from near railway track in Chak 700/42 GB in Kamalia on Thursday night. The identification of the body is yet to be ascertained.
