RAWALPINDI – Khana Farhang Iran in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organised calligraphic and painting competitions with title of “Ashurai Saqafat” here on Monday. The competitors painted the incident of Karbala through their feelings. Khana Farhang Iran Director General (DG), Muhammad Akbari and Waqar Ahmed, Resident Director (RD) RAC, distributed cash prizes among the position holders.
Muhammad Akbari, while speaking on the occasion, said that the language of skill has been used to link up the relations which were long lasting. He said that skilled people got inspiration from incident of Karbala beyond religion. He added that artists must promote spirit of Islam through their work.
Waqar Ahmed also applauded Khana Farhang for promoting cultural activities in the region. Famous calligraphers Khawaja Muhammad Hussain and Azeem Iqbal were appointed as judges.

Cash prized were given to the position holders respectively in both the categories. In calligraphic category, Zia ul Haq Awan got first, Yonis Roomi second and Aqsa Rasheed secred third position. Similarly in painting competition Aamira secured first, Nabeela second while Hina Saher succeeded in getting third position.
