JHANG/CHINIOT/KASUR/MINCHINABAD - At least seven persons were killed in different road accidents, shootout and violent incidents over the past 24 hours.

As per detail, in the first incident that took place in Mauza Kapori situated in the limit of Garh Mahraja Police, a man and his son were killed over a petty issue. Sakina, widow of deceased Muhammad Ramzan told the police that she, her daughter Kazeena, sons Mohsin Abbas and Manzar Abbas and her husband were asleeping in a room last night. In the meantime three alleged culprits identified as Muhamoodul Hassan, Tariq and Luqman stormed into the house and tried to abduct her 16-year-old daughter Kazeena. However, they opened indiscriminate firing on her husband Ramzan and son Manzer Abbas when they attempted to overpower them, killing both the man and his son instantly. The reason behind the incident is said to be refusal of the hand of Kazeena Bibi in marriage to the accused. On information the police rushed to the spot and took the bodies for autopsy. Case was registered against the accused.

In another incident that occurred on Jhang-Multan Raod near Fatehwala, a motorcyclist was killed. As per detail, 28-year-old Nawab son of Hidayat, a resident of Fatehwala was going on a motorcycle when suddenly his shawl entangled in the wheel of the motorcycle. Resultantly he fell down from the bike and died on the spot.

In CHINIOT, a dacoit was killed in a shootout with the Saddr Police while his four accomplices managed to flee the scene here the other night.

The Saddr Police was tipped off that armed dacoits had set up a picket and were looting people on Chiniot-Pindi Bhattian Road near Rao Bagh village, some 5-km from here.

Meanwhile, an affectee namely Liaqat Ali, son of Mumtaz Hussain who was deprived of Rs10,000 and a cellphone by the accused also approached the police.

Acting swiftly, a joint team of the Saddr and Burjian Police chased the culprits near Asian village. However, the accused started firing on the police and the ensuing cross-firing continued for about an hour. Resultantly one the dacoits identified as Imran Sikandar alias Lamba was killed while his four accomplices succeeded in fleeing the scene. According to the police, Sikandar was wanted by the police in a number of theft, dacoity and kidnapping for ransom cases Chiniot, Faisalabad, Jhang and Hafizabad districts. The Saddr Police have registered a case and started search for his fleeing accomplices.

In MINCHINABAD, Two teenagers were killed and another lost memory in motorcycle and car collision here on Minchinabad Bypass here the other day.

As per detail, Munawar Iqbal, a resident of Minchinabad, along with his two companions Mohammad Maqbool and Iftikhar Ahmad was on the way back home after attending the death anniversary of his friend in Mauza Behkan Bodla. In the meantime the motorcycle was hit by a speeding car. As a result all of three bike-riders sustained critical head injuries and were rushed to THQ Hospital from where they referred to DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar and then to Mao Hospital Lahore where two of them Munawar and Muhammad Maqbool died. According to doctor, condition of Iftikhar Ahmad is critical as he has lost his memory. However, the bereaved families have forgiven the runaway driver of the car.

In KASUR, a woman was killed by unknown persons near Mustafaabad here on Monday. According to the police, the woman was strangled to death and her body was found from Panduki Canal near Mustafaabad. The police shifted the body to DHQ Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
