Blast, firing incidents kill 3 in Quetta

QUETTA – Three persons were killed in various localities of Quetta in separate incidents of blast and firing while one person was killed in Kuchlak firing incident.According to details, one person was killed and three others sustained serious injuries in a bomb blast in Sariab Road on Monday night.According to police, the explosives were planted near Sariab police station which exploded with a huge blast killing a man on the spot and wounding three others who were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. The deceased was identified as Naveed Ahmed while injured were identified as Aftab Ahmed, Sajjad and Abdul Salam. Police and other law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site after the blast and cordoned off the area.Police has started investigations into the blast.  However, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.Meanwhile,at least three people, including a member of Shia community were shot dead and three others wounded in Quetta and Kuchlak in separate target killing incidents, on Monday.According to police, a car carrying members of Hazara community was moving towards City from Hazara town when armed men riding a motorbike sprayed the car with bullets at Spany Road of Quetta near Benazir Flyover.“Four people sustained serious injuries in the shooting,” a police officer, said, adding, that assailants fled from the scene.Police and rescue workers rushed to the site and shifted injured to Combined Military Hospital for medical- aid where they were identified as driver Abdullah, Hassan Raza, Muhammad Arif and Latif. However, Abdullah later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.“The incident seems to be a part of sectarian killing against members of Shia community,” a police official told TheNation.Following the incident, hundreds of members of Hazara community staged a demo at Brewery Road by placing hurdles on the road and chanted slogans against brutal murder of member of Hazara community.They criticised government for its alleged failure in rounding up culprits who committed alleged genocide of Hazara community, demanding humanitarian organisations for taking notice of this barbarism.Separately, unidentified armed men shot dead a person at Fatima Jinnah Road of Quetta.Police said that Abdul Qadir was on his way when armed men on motorbike opened indiscriminate firing on him.Police and other law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site and shift the victim to Civil Hospital Quetta. Police said that the deceased was Urdu speaking and the incident appeared to be a case of target killing. However, no group has claimed responsibility for any attack.In another incident, armed men riding a motorbike shot dead a person in Kuchlak, some 15 kilometers away from Quetta. Juma Khan was shot dead in Kuchlak Bazaar, police said, adding,that investigations were underway to ascertain real motive behind the murder.Police has registered separate cases of all incidents and started investigations.In two other incidents, four persons including a woman were injured in hand grenade attack and bomb blast in Quetta.In the first incident, unidentified people hurled a hand grenade at a tea shop in Sariab locality near Burma hotel that exploded with a huge blast wounding two persons and smashing windowpanes of the shop. The injured were shifted to hospital for medical treatment where they were identified as Muhammad Qasim and Saeedur Rehman.In the second incident, explosives kept in a garbage tub on Jan Muhammad Road near Jadon Street exploded with a big bang wounding two passers-by including a woman. The injured identified as Bibi Samina and Jamil Ahmed were moved to hospital for medical treatment. Police has started investigation into the blasts after registering two separate cases of both the incidents.
