Elections to be held on time, says Nisar Khuhro

KARACHI - Rejecting the call of Tahirul Qadri for long march, Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said the time had passed when democracy used to be derailed through long marches and short marches.  He said that the sitting government would complete its five-year term till March 2013 as per the constitution.
Talking to media at his office on Monday, Khuhro said revolution had already brought by the Pakistan Peoples Party by strengthening the institutions and rendered many sacrifices in this regard. He said there was no room for dictatorships or revolutions.
He said those who want a dictatorial rule in the country in the cover of revolutionary slogans could not be succeeded their plans. He further said Tahirul Qadri would responsible if the democratic system get derailed. Speaker said neutral interim-set up would be formed after completion of five-year time period of current assemblies. He said next general election will be held on time. Speaker further said that the political orphans speaking against the PPP, and those who were part of dictator announcing to launch long march.
‘PAKISTAN NEEDS UNITY, DEMOCRACY NOT REVOLUTION’: Pakistan People’s Party Deputy Secretary General and Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon has blamed that Allama Tahirul Qadri was attempting to disarray the masses by using different tactics but he would not be allowed to do so. In a statement issued here on Monday, Sharjeel Memon said that masses are well aware of true leadership and they can’t be deceived by void slogans regarding giving them rights. He said that Tahirul Qadri should look into his past deeds and stop criticism of PPP.
Masses memories are not too weak to forget the elements who derailed democracy by supporting former dictator Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf, he added.
Sharjeel advised the Tehreek Minhajul Quran chief to deflect his revolution to any other country as Pakistan currently needs unity and democracy instead of revolution.
KMC: The Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Hussain Syed has said that KMC was preparing comprehensive strategy to check out the prices of items being sold in Bachat Bazars under which every possible measures would be taken to save citizens from low-standard items.  Security arrangements would also be made in Bachat Bazars so that citizens would be able to do shopping in Bachat Bazars without any fear.
He stated this during a meeting which attended by officers of E&IP Department including Director Enterprise and Investment Promotion Farhan Durrani, Director Bachat Bazars Muhammad Faheem Khan and others. During meeting Administrator Karachi directed E&IP Department to stop all illegal Bachat Bazaars in jurisdiction of KMC immediately and take strict action against the people involved in it whereas the availability of daily items on low prices should be ensured in Bachat Bazars.
Administrator Karachi said that the numerous complaints were being received about Bachat Bazars located on various locations of the city and those Bachat Bazars were not providing citizens with low prices items and not following the rules and regulations as well. He said that the purpose of establishing Bachat Bazars was to facilitate citizens and the availability of daily use items on one place so that citizens could not only save money but also time. On this occasion in a briefing Administrator Karachi was informed that at the moment Bachat Bazars on above 100 locations in the city were established where thousands of citizens come for shopping.
Administrator Karachi said that stall holders, decorators should not provide their service to illegal Bachat Bazars otherwise they would be responsible for their own. He directed to improve security arrangements in Bachat Bazars and in this connection city wardens would also be deployed in Bachat Bazars to control traffic and guide the people.
