MULTAN - Former foreign minister and Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the PPP and PML-N possess nothing except failure at the completion of their five years tenures respective.

Addressing a public gathering here at Union Council Boyewala, he added that the ruling party and its allies badly harmed national economy and institutions by national looting resources and exchequer. "Today entire nation laments that those who had raised the slogan of roti, kapra aur makan deprived the nation of even last bite," he maintained.

He said that the PTI would eliminate family politics from the country permanently as the masses would reject all those candidates, who looted national wealth. He said that the politicians, who secured the future of their generations and neglected national interests, would face humiliating defeat in the upcoming general elections. "They have deprived the masses of even basic facilities. Thousands of labourers have lost their jobs because of power crisis," he added.

MPC ELECTS NEW BODY: Rana Pervez Hameed, a joint candidate of Newsmen, MJM and The Mediamen panels, was elected President and Khalid Chaudhry, independent, General Secretary, of Multan Press Club (MPC) for the year 2013.

The president-elect got 307 votes while his opponent Mumtaz Niazi could get 282 votes. Similarly, Khalid Chaudhry secured 189 votes while his nearest competitor Rauf Maan could get 179 votes. Among the other office bearers were Senior Vice President Shadab Anwar 246 votes, Vice President Pervez Malik 229, Joint Secretary Gohar Javaid 251 and Finance Secretary Mazhar Khan 268.

Former president Shakil Anjum got highest number of votes, 305, and was elected member of executive body. The other members included Ijaz Tarin, Azam Jahangir, Humaira Shafiq, Kh. Ashraf Siddiqui, Rafiq Qureshi, Sajjad Khokhar, Tariq Qureshi, Tahir Nadeem, Shakil ur Rehman Hur and Nadeem Haider.

HOUSE LOOTED: Five armed dacoits looted cash, jewellery, and other valuables from a house in Basti Malook here the other night. According to police sources, five armed dacoits entered the house of Zahid, held the family at gunpoint, looted cash, jewellery and fled. The police registered a case and started investigation.

Tip-off admin, get reward: DCO Nasim Sadiq declared on Thursday that the operation against qabza and extortion mafia had been launched and the revenue generated from retrieved property will be spent on public welfare.

Addressing a meeting here at his office, he added that the district government did not lack manpower or resources. "We just need conviction. BZU FEE SCHEDULE: The Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan has announced the schedule for depositing examination forms and fee for MA/MSc (Old Course) Second Year Supplementary Examination, 2011 here on Thursday.

According to the notification, the candidates can submit their examination forms with normal fee till January 21 while the last date for submitting forms with double fee will be January 28. Similarly, the students can deposit their forms till one week before the commencement of examination with triple fee. The examination date will be announced later on.
