ISLAMABAD – Islamabad police on Monday arrested five member of a gang of dacoits and recovered sophisticated weapons and liquor from their possession.
According to a press note issued from office of senior superintendent of Islamabad Capital territory police on Monday, a special team of ICT police working under the supervision of SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiani arrested five dacoits of a gang and recovered sophisticated weapons from their possession including one carbine, one 12 bore gun and three automatic pistols. Police identified accused as Riaz s/o Abdul Malik resident of Attock, Imran s/o Muhammad Aslam, Qaisar Mehmud s/o Pervez, Bilal s/o Amanat and Rizwan.
Meanwhile on Monday, ASI Muhammad Tariq from Sabzi Mandi police station arrested another accused of dacoity Mir Vaiz involved in snatching valuables and cash from people at gun point. Sub-Inspector Yar Muhammad from Tarnol police station arrested Abdul Saleem, Ahmed Nawaz for possessing hashish. ASI Muhammad Nawaz from Industrial area police station apprehended three Afghan nationals Nur Muhammad, Gul Islam and Atta Khan who could not legally justify their stay l in the country.
ASI Umer Hyat from Nilore police arrested Nasir Qauym for having 30 bore pistol. Industrial area police also arrested seven suspects during search operation in its jurisdiction. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.. While reviewing this overall performance, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP have further directed all police officials for high vigilance and patrolling in their respective areas to curb activities of anti-social elements.
