LAHORE – A 40-year-old Christian man was shot dead over old enmity in the limits of Nishtar Colony on Monday, police said.

Christo Masih along with his wife Shamim Bibi riding on a motorcycle was on his way home when another motorcyclist intercepted the couple close to their residence in the Nishtar Colony.

The widow told the police that one Bashir Barkat stopped them and opened straight fire on her husband over old enmity. According to the complainant, the killer exchanged harsh words with her husband and then opened fire. She also said as they fell on the road the accused fled away from the crime scene.

Her husband sustained multiple bullet wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

When contacted, a duty officer at the Nishtar Colony police station said that the dead body was removed to the morgue for an autopsy while the police have conducting raids to arrest the accused. The police have also registered the murder case against the accused on the complaint of Shamim Bibi, wife of the deceased.

Found dead: Two unidentified men were recovered dead from different parts of the City on Monday. Police said that they recovered the dead bodies from the Nawan Kot and the Lorry Adda police precincts. Police investigators believe that the deceased men were drug addict, who expired because of severe cold. The bodies are removed to the morgue for autopsy and the police are investigating.
