GUJRANWALA - Funeral in absentia for former Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmed was offered here at Liaqat Bagh on Monday which was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life.

Speaking on the occasion, JI Gujranwala chapter Ameer Bilal Qudrat Butt paid rich tributes to late Qazi and said that meritorious services of the late JI ameer for uniting Islamic forces could never be forgotten. He said that it was untiring efforts of Qazi Hussain Ahmed that brought together all religious part at platform of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Milli Yakjehti Council to ensure harmony and brotherhood in the country. He said that he was the torch-bearer of the movement to eliminate sectarianism from the country. He said that the former JI ameer always raised voice against any oppression on Muslims whether it was in Kashmir, Afghanistan, Palestine or elsewhere in the world. Politicians, traders and people from all walks of life paid glowing tribute to the late JI chief.

death condoled: The sad demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmad was condoled by officer-bearers of different political parties, who termed his death as an irreparable to the nation. They paid glowing tribute to the former Jamaat-e-Islami ameer for his meritorious services for democracy and his endeavours to unite religious parties on one platform.

Those who condoled his death included PML-Q District President Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, former JI district ameer Mian Muhammad Yousaf Tehami, JI District Ameer Dr Muhammad Yaseen, Kissan Board Divisional President Aman Ullah Chattha and former MC chairman Dr Habib Ullah Cheema.
