ISLAMABAD - All of us needed to rise above personal interests and think collectively for solving the problems of the people, said Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.

The Prime Minister expressed these views while speaking to notables of Tarnol who met him at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday. The Prime Minister said that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) government was completing its tenure after having braved huge challenges. He said that despite the fact that the economic and security situation in 2008 was grave, the PPP-led coalition government was able to negotiate the challenges faced by the country pursuing its policy of reconciliation as envisioned by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.

The Prime Minister said that the greatest service is to help people in overcoming their problems. He urged the political workers to reach out to people, listen to their problems and solve them. “If you feel for the people, then you can solve their problems,” observed the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister announced that a university would be established in Tarnol and also directed the Chief Commissioner Islamabad to make a plan for provision of safe drinking water for the people of Tarnol. The Prime Minister also assured redressal of grievances of affectees whose land had been acquired by Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
