AJK to enhance int'l outreach for raising Kashmir issue

Masood Khan says Trump tirade result of false narrative spewed by Indian lobbies

MIRPUR (AJK) - AJK President Sardar Masood Khan said that constructive efforts will be made to enhance international outreach for raising profile of the Kashmir issue.

Talking to Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir who called on him, Masood Khan praised Pakistan's unified stance against President Trump's recent anti-Pakistan tirade. He said that Pakistan's steadfast viewpoint is a testament to the resolve and commitment of its government, people and armed forces in crushing terrorism in the country.

Pakistan, the AJK president said, has been the main victim of the ongoing 'war on terror' and has lost thousands of its civilians and armed personnel suffered colossal loses to its local economy and lost out on foreign investments.

Lamenting President Trump's statement, President Masood Khan said that the statement is a direct result of the false narrative spewed by Indian lobbies in the United States in order to divert attention from the core issue of Kashmir.

The AJK president and the LA speaker while discussing the latest situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir, said that the people of the held valley are subjected to inconceivable atrocities which constitute war crimes violations of international humanitarian laws. "Everyday unarmed innocent Kashmiris are tortured, harassed and murdered by the Indian occupation forces under the pretence of security measures, they regretted.

Under the illegal Armed Forces Special Powers Acts (AFSPA), Indian occupation forces, the AJK president added, are engaged in the brutal and unaccountable killings of innocent and unarmed Kashmiris who are peacefully demanding their right to self-determination.

Masood Khan said that on January 5, people of Pakistan, AJK and across the LoC in Kashmir had unanimously reiterated their determination to continue their peaceful struggle for their unassailable right to a free and fair plebiscite by commemorating the Kashmir Right to Self-Determination Day, demanding the implementation of UN Security Council's resolutions passed on this day in 1949.

India has started a systematic proxy war in Pakistan to destabilize its cities, regions, and institutions, said President Masood Khan. He further added that India is abetting and sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan through espionage and has been employing ignominious diplomatic manoeuvres to demonize Pakistan's stance on the Kashmir issue by advocating the conflict as a bilateral issue. Both leaders urged unity and staying vigilant of the malicious Indian efforts to create instability in Pakistan.
