QUETTA-A lawyer was gunned down by unknown armed assailants at Jan Muhammad Road here on Monday morning. According to police, Ghulam Mustafa Advocate was going to district courts from his home when unknown armed assailants riding a motorbike sprayed volley of bullets on him at Jan Muhammad Road and escaped from the scene. He sustained serious wounds. He succumbed to his injuries before reaching  the hospital. Angry lawyers including Ali Ahmed Kurd, Baz Muhammad Kakar and newly elected President of Balochistan Bar Association (BBA) Amanullah Baloch took out a protest rally from the premises of district courts against target killing of Ghulam Mustafa Advocate and other innocent people and blocked the Zarghoon road. Later on, they marched towards Governor's House and staged demo. They were chanting slogans against deteriorating law and order situation and demanding of the govt to provide protection to lawyers and arrest the accused persons. Addressing on the occasion, former BBA president Baz Muhammad Kakar strongly condemned the killing of Ghulam Mustafa Advocate and said police has failed to provide safety to the people and control law and order.  He demanded that govt should take stern action against persons involved in these heinous crime. Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani came to the protesting lawyers. The father of deceased lawyer who was alongwith the procession of lawyers apprised the Chief Minister about the incident. The Chief Minister went back to Secretariat and invited a delegation of lawyers for talks. But lawyers refused to hold talks with CM. Protesting lawyers went to the residence of late Ghulam Mustafa Advocate after their protest in front of Governor's House. They also announced three day mourning against killing of the lawyer. The workers of Jaffaria Alliance also made a protest against killing of Ghulam Mustafa Advocate. They blocked Jinnah Road and burnt old tyres. A vehicle of police was also set on fire during the protest. Police has registered a case against unknown miscreants.
