ISLAMABAD - Over 200,000 displaced persons of North Waziristan have been vaccinated against polio till Monday at 18 different permanent transit points.
According to the data shared by the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination around 58716 IDPs were vaccinated in KP from North Waziristan while about 177773 IDPs were vaccinated in FR Bannu.
In total till Monday 236489 IDPs have been administered polio drops at various transit points. Meanwhile, a team of 61 health officials including doctors, nurses, paramedics and supporting staff with medicines from PIMS has left for Bannu to serve the displaced community from North Waziristan due to military operation. As many as, 28 doctors, 10 nurses, 9 paramedics, 4 clerical staff, 3 kitchen staff, 4 drivers and 5 vehicles were included in the team.
