Armed bandits rampaged through the area, taking away valuables including cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from three shops and one house, exposing the tall claims of police here the other night.

According to details, unidentified burglars broke into Ishraf pharmacy situated on Kasur Road. The burglars broke into the safe and looted cash amounting to Rs172,000 and costly medicines worth more than Rs85,000. In another incident that also occurred on the same road unidentified bandits broke into Sabir auto store and made off with Rs65,000.

Similarly, the bandits looted Rs120,000 from Zaman electronics.

According to report another such incident occurred on Depalpur Road where unidentified outlaws stormed into the house one Sardar Muhammad Saleem. The bandits collected cash Rs50,000, five tolas gold and other valuables and fled away. It is to be noted that the owners had made preparations for a wedding scheduled after Eidul Fitr.

On the other hand, the rising incidents of robberies and street crime have caused anxiety among the residents and they have questioned the police performance. They protested against “what they described” failure of the City Police. They demanded the RPO and Kasur DPO to take notice of the rising crime in the area and mobilise the police to protect life and property of the public.
