More than 600 teachers have been reshuffled keeping in view the number of students in schools, disclosed an Education Department official.

The purpose of reallocation is to utilise their experience and services in a better way to improve quality of education in public sector schools.

The reallocated teachers have been asked to report to their new posting places. The sources said that the schools having less than 20 students will be consolidated in nearest school. In this regard, the deputy education officers have been ordered by the EDO (education) to provide data of such schools within one week.

The sources further said that those teachers who have been absent from their duties for a long time or normally found absent from duties are being terminated from service.

TWO KILLED: Two persons died in different incidents. Teen boy Farhan Younis died on the spot when he fell from his bike on Attock Kamra Road. In another incident, Safdar of People Colony died when he was allegedly hit by Imran with an iron rod. The quarrel started over a petty dispute.

1,400 cops deployed

To maintain law and order across Attock district, more than 1,400 policemen including Police Qaumi Razakars have been deployed outside mosques, Ramazan bazaars and other public places.

These personnel have been deployed at 392 mosques and six Ramazan bazaars. The police personnel deployed include 6 DSPs, 14 inspectors, 39 assistant sub inspectors and sub inspectors, 31 head constables, 600 constables, 14 lady constables and 700 Razakars. A control room has also been established at Police Headquarters to closely monitor the situation.
