ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered the concerned authorities to release Rs1 billion more for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from militant-infested North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
According to sources, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) and other concerned institutions to expedite the process of relief and rehabilitation of IDPs.
"All the available resources to be utilized for rehabilitation of the NWA affectees," the PM directed.
The Federal Government has so far released Rs4.5 billion for the affectees of North `Waziristan.
Hundreds of thousands of people fled the tribal region following the launch of a full-scale military offensive in NWA in the wake of failure of government-initiated peace-dialogue with militants.
