LAKKI MARWAT  - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Member National Assembly Col (R) Dr Amirullah Marwat has criticised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his double-faced politics, says a press release on Monday. He was responding to Maulana Fazlur Rehman's statement that JUI-F has reservations over Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO), which was passed recently by the parliament.

The MNA said that JUI-F is coalition partner of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in the federal government and their parliamentarians are federal ministers.

He said that JUI-F Senator Talha Mahmood is chairman of Senate Standing committee on interior which okayed the ordinance and then it was tabled in the Senate and National Assembly.

He said if Fazl had so many reservations and the government was not giving any importance to his voice then his party should separate itself from the government and sit on opposition benches in National Assembly.

Col (R) Dr Amirullah Marwat said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman should shun the double-faced politics and come to straightforward and ideological politics so that the JUI-F could play positive role in parliament.

Meanwhile, a local PTI leader has asked the party leadership to probe the utilisation of uplift funds by the parliamentarians.

Talking to this correspondent on Monday, the PTI district general secretary Ahmad Nawaz said that the party lawmakers should be made accountable for utilisation of developmental funds. He asked the provincial government and PTI leadership to adopt and implement zero tolerance policy for corruption and misuse of uplift funds. Nawaz added that party workers would keep a check on funds utilisation and would report irregularities to the high command of the party.

"We will not let our lawmakers to plunder national wealth and misuse funds meant for development," he made it clear, saying that transparent utilisation of funds will help make uplift schemes sustainable and people will take advantage of them for a long time.
