ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday released the audited details of the political parties assets for financial year 2013-14.

According to Article 13 of the Political Parties Order 2002, a political party must submit the details of chartered accountant audited consolidated statement of party accounts to the ECP.

Under the law, a political party is bound to provide information about annual income and expenses, sources of its funds, assets and liabilities within 60 days from the close of each financial year. According to ECP, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was richest political party with total income standing at Rs 210.88 million during the financial year 2013-14.

In its statement, the MQM has revealed that Rs 210.21 million were collected through donation and funds.

The ruling PML-N`s income was Rs 10.67 million whereas the expenses were Rs 30.07 million. It has total assets worth Rs 70.47 million.

The PTI has expenditures of Rs 160.17 million while the income was Rs 100.27 million. It has Rs 90.15 million in its bank accounts.

The PPP income was Rs 10.45 million while the expenses were Rs 20.54 million.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek s (PAT) income was Rs 800,000 and the party spent Rs 3 million during the entire financial year.
