Mir Muhammad Hussain popularly known as Muhammad Kashmiri and a veteran worker of Pakistan Movement, has died after protracted illness at the age of 95.

He took active part in the independence movement as Salaar of Muslim League National Guard. He was laid to rest in the Railway Line Graveyard on Sunday. The funeral was attended by a large number of local citizens and his admirers and family members.

No elected representative of the district belonging to PML-N except ex-MPA Dr Muzaffar Ali Sheikh attended the funeral. About 10 years ago, he lost his eyesight and was paralysed and since then he was bed-ridden.

About two years back his lone son had died and since then he became penniless. Local journalists had highlighted his plight in the electronic and print media several times during the past few years but no one from the PML-N offered any monetary assistance to him.
