Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) today submitted a resolution in Sindh Assembly secretariat, demanding extension in authority of Rangers.

PTI leaders Khurram Sher Zaman and Hameed Zia submitted the resolution at assembly secretariat. The resolution says that overall law and order situation has improved in Karachi, during last six months as result of operation conducted by Rangers.

It said that Rangers have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for maintaining peace and resolution be passed unanimously. The resolution says those political parties which will oppose the resolution in provincial assembly, will be taken as such parties do not want peace in the city and backing crimes.

Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain chief has said a referendum be held over Rangers operation in Karachi. He said this in a statement issued from London.

Altaf Hussain claimed that Rangers have no public mandate on what action is being taken by it and operations being conducted in Karachi.

MQM chief also demanded for formation of a committee comprising judges to oversee Rangers actions.
