KARACHI - Two men including a policeman were shot dead on Saturday while another was injured outside of Karachi Central Jail (KCJ) within the jurisdiction of Jamshed Quarter police station. The unknown assailants managed to escape from the sport, said police. Providing the detail of the incident, SHO Jamshed Quarters police station Fawad Akhwan told the media-men that some unknown assailants intercepted the victims near PIB Colony Mor and opened fire on them, which resulted in the death of two persons including, Mohammad Ali Memon 35, and Head Constable, Bilal Hussain 40, while one of their associates Aga Jalal 35, received bullets injuries. The injured rushed to Liaquat National Hospital, where his condition was said to be 'very critical'. He said that the motive behind the murders was old enmity; the assailants targeted Mohammad Ali Memon, who died on arrival and his friend Head Constable, Bilal Hussain 40 died on the spot. Akhwan said that he deceased Mohammad Ali Memon aged 35, was on bail in a murder case, accompanied by his friends had come to the Judicial Complex, placed within the premises of Central Jail, for taking date regarding hearing of the case from Additional District Session Judge (South) Ghulam Rasool Sammo. The office further said that deceased Ali Memon was the property dealer and also had run the car showroom in a partnership with Magsi tribe. But they separated the business over on some issues some years ago. Passing after sometime of separation of the business, deceased Ali Memon killed the one man namely Ismail Magsi of rival group in 2006 at Baldia. The SHO also said that the victims had come on two motorcycles, deceased's Ali associates had come for his protection, she said that it cannot exactly about the numbers of attackers because just four or five armed men had come out from jeep and opened fire. The attackers used the different types of arms such as Kalashnikov guns, TT and 9mm pistols. Later they easily managed to flee from the scene within the 45 seconds. However, the officer refused it that there was no flag on any party hoisting in the jeep. The tension prevailed in the area and the scores of the people gathered there. Following the incident, the heavy contingents of the law enforcers and the ambulances from the different welfare association reached the scene. His another associate Nisar Ahmad, who survived the firing, told that the accused were riding a white colour Pejaro jeep fitted with blue light and hoisting a political party flag. Police said that they have retrieved three licensed TT pistols weapons from the deceased's bodies. The murder FIR number 213/06 was registered at Baldia Town police station and Memon was on jail in this murder case. Later on the revenge, the rival group killed his elder brother named Javed Memon on the same place where Ali was killed when Javed came to meet Ali on Jail and was returning to home nearly six-months ago. Ali and all of his associates are the residents of Saeedabad, Baldia Town while getting bail and after killing of his brother Javed, Ali shifted to Punjab, Lahore because of this enmity. Interestingly, there was a dispute over jurisdiction among the police of three stations such as Jamshed Quarters, New Town and PIB Colony. Therefore, the victims were taken to hospitals in private vehicles. The FIR was registered against unidentified accused. Further investigation to probe the case is in progress. Deceased policeman Bilal was posted to Gizri police station. Although deceased Ali was the father of two children and the victims Bilal and Jalal were the brothers. While talking to the media representatives, IG Prison Yamin Khan said it was not the incident related to the prison or prisoners. Adding that he said it was the incident of local crime and Jail police do not have any relation from this matter.
