OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, who is a keen follower of cricket, said on Tuesday that Shahid Afridi was a good player and he should be treated well. Talking to media after inaugurating cricket summer camp here at Gymkhana Cricket Club, he said that Shahid Afridi was a hard working player who performed well in the semi-final of World Cricket Cup played in India. The Pakistan Cricket Board should respect and honour players like Afridi and the matters between the PCB and Afridi should have been settled amicably instead of removing him from captaincy. He said the PCB should have taken action against the players of national cricket team who defamed the name of the country instead of International Cricket Council (ICC) taking action against them. He assured that efforts would be made to make the Minto Park at par with the Gymkhana cricket ground to facilitate the youngsters. Nawaz Sharif stressed the need for accountability across the board as he thinks that timely accountability could help lead the country to a right direction.
