NANKANA SAHIB A case was on Tuesday registered again the Nankana station head officer, sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector in compliance with court orders. SHO Chaudhry Ayyoub, SI Saadi Ahmed, ASI Allah Ditta and others had conducted a raid on the house of petitioner Sakina in Mohallah Rehmania without any warrant. They had also arrested one Shabir Ahmed and the guests came to inquire after the family members and registered a case against them. In response to the raid, the local people had expressed their great concerns over the misuse of authority. They had demanded that the Punjab inspector general and Sheikupura RPO Dr Arif Mushtaq should take stern action against such police officer causing bad reputation for the whole police department. PROTEST AGAINST SHO: Dozens of people protested against the Seyyed Wala SHO and chanted slogans against him outside the Press Club. The protesters told the media that one-and-half-years ago, 6 persons robbed the house of one Shahid Iqbal, a resident of village Hippo Kay Balla in the jurisdiction of Seyyed Wala police precincts and on putting up resistance, the dacoits opened fire on Kausar Parveen, the wife of Shahid Iqbal. They said that the police have failed to arrest the accused, demanding that SHO Riazuddin should be suspended immediately. The accused are professional killer and could cause serious damage to us and the responsibility would be on the shoulders of the SHO and the DPO if there would be any mishap with us in this regard, they warned. They also appealed to the Punjab IG to order immediate arrest of the dacoits. ABETTOR ARRESTED: Police on Tuesday arrested the abettor who had helped his son, a proclaimed offender, escape when the police conducted a raid on his house. Proclaimed offender Nasar Ali resident of Nabi Pur Peeran was present at his house. His father Muhammd Yousaf helped him escape when the Nankana police conducted a raid on his house. Separately, PO Shahid alias Shahidi, a resident of Mohallah Eidgah, was abetted in escaping by Zaheer Ahmed in the jurisdiction of Warbuton police. A has been registered against the accused. CHEQUE FOR WIDOW: The EDO health on Tuesday gave Rs 0.4 million cheque to the widow of Dr Riaz Ahmed who died of heart attack while performing his duty. The Punjab chief minister had promised to provide financial assistance for the deceaseds family.
