LAHORE-A delegation of Mall Road traders called on Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa at Governors House and apprised him of the problems they were facing due to frequent protests and rallies held on the said road. They told the governor that protests and rallies on The Mall had become a daily routine which was highly affecting their business. The governor told them that it was right of all citizens to hold peaceful demonstrations in a democratic country, but it was duty of the administration to ensure smooth flow of traffic and to protect life and property of the masses. Khosa also drew their attention towards a writ petition pending in Lahore High Court seeking ban on holding of rallies on The Mall. He asked them to wait for court verdict in this regard. The governor, however, assured traders that instructions will be issued to administration to make arrangements for smooth flow of traffic so that their business is not affected.
