4 brothers killed over old enmity

Four brothers were gunned down in an attack apparently linked to an old rivalry here on Friday.
Police said the incident took place in Hyderabad's Hussain Abad Chowk where armed men riding motorbikes opened fire on four brothers, badly injuring all of them. A passer-by was also wounded in the firing. The injured were rushed to civil hospital where they were pronounced dead. Police said it was a clash between two clans due to their old rivalry. The deceased - Wali Muhammad, Asif, Murtaza and Zulfiqar belonged to Solangi clan and the attacker were said to be the people of Abbasi clan.
The victims were reportedly heading to a local court to appear in a case hearing when the attackers ambushed them.
Meanwhile, twenty people fell critically ill after eating contaminated food in a remote area of Nawabshah. According to police sources, 20 people including five children were served toxic food at a religious gathering in Khuda Bakhsh Jalbani village. They were immediately shifted to Peoples Medical College Nawabshah where they were provided medical treatment.
According to doctors, five children are still in critical condition. However, police have kicked off investigation into the incident.
