Dr. Abdul Malik nominee of PML-N and allied parties was Chief Minister of Balochistan unopposed.
As no other candidate filed nomination papers for the slot which was stipulated time for filing of papers. Therefore‚ it has become clear that Dr. Abdul Malik will be declared officially new leader of the house in the provincial assembly in its special session today (Sunday).
JUI-F which had nominated Abdul Rehman Khetran as its candidate for the slot but after talks it decided to not field him and supported Dr. Abdul Malik.
It is pertinent to note that Dr. Abdul Malik is a joint candidate fielded by PML-N‚ National Party and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.
Later talking to media‚ Dr. Abdul Malik said that he will take along all political forces to improve situation in the province. He said every possible measure will be taken to bring peace and uplift of the people.
