ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Sports Board (PCB) released Rs58million grant on Friday to the Interim Committee of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to hold the 32nd National Games from June 28 while the remaining Rs22m will be released in few days.

The PSB formed three-member committee which includes PSB Director General Syed Amir Hamza Gillani, secretary interim committee POA Rana Mujhaid and deputy secretary sports of ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) for the monitoring of utilization of the funds and make sure these funds must be utilized in transparent manner.

Talking to The Nation on Friday, DG PSB Syed Amir Hamza Gilani said: “The renovation work is under progress and we have deputed a large work force for the timely completion of the work. Though the task is very difficult as there is a lot of work needed to be done and that too before the inaugural of the National Games, yet I am quite confident we will manage to complete it in the given time frame and athletes will be provided best available facilities.”

“The renovation work is in progress and it is my request to all the stakeholders especially the media persons to come and watch themselves all the work, which is done on war footings, as some of the media persons, without knowing the actual facts, just try to create fabricated stories and bringing bad name for the PSB. I am sure they will be more than satisfied after watching the pace of work,” he concluded.
