At least 22 people including children and women were killed and 36 others sustained multiple injuries in four road accidents occurred in different district here on Saturday.

According to details, in Sargodha, five members of a family belonged to Lahore including two minors were killed in a horrible collusion between a trailer and double cabin van on Motorway near Kotmoman on Saturday morning. According to details, one of the tyres of the double cabin van, on the way from Lahore to Islamabad, suddenly burst. Resultantly it went out of the control and collided with a trailer, killing Amir Shakoor, Basit Ali, Asma, Asifa Shakoor and Irfa on the spot while two children identified as Aimen and Fiaz received injuries.

In another incident that took place in Sukkur, five persons were killed and several injured when a truck collided with a pick-up van near a vegetable market. The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities while the sources feared that the toll in the accident could rise.

Similarly, another unfortunate incident occurred in Mansehra where a coaster plunged into a ravine, killing six passengers and injuring 31 others.

According to police, the passenger coach was on the way to Gilgit from Rawalpindi when the accident occurred due to failure of breaks. As a result of mishap, six passengers including an Army soldier were killed while 31 others including seven Pakistan Army personnel sustained injuries.

The injured security men were returning to their duty at Siachen when the accident took place.

The bodies and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Mansehra, Ayub Medical Complex and CMH Abbottabad.

Meanwhile, in Chakkwal, least four passengers including two children and two women were burnt alive when a van caught fire after collision with a car on Chakkwal Road here on Saturday.

According to police sources, the passenger van was on the way when it collided with a car due to speeding, and after the accident the van caught fire. Passengers rescued themselves by jumping out from windows of the van but two women and two children trapped inside the van were burnt to death on the spot.

Police and rescue team reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to nearby hospital.

In Kot Radha Kishan, two member of a family were killed while another was injured here at Bhamba Phatak in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan Police. Police said that Jamil Ahmad along with his mother Bilqees were coming to Kot Radha Kishan on a bike No.9723/LES when reached near Bhamba Phatak main Kot Radha Kishan Road a speeding van LEZ-9174 coming from the opposite direction hit them. Resultantly, they were injured seriously and taken to RHC Kot Radha Kishan, where they succumbed to their injuries
