What with the increasing number of private channels showing foreign entertainment programs, Pakistan is a country which has been drastically westernized and is on the verge of losing its own identity. Heartbreakingly enough, our channels not solely air Turkish dramas but also show the re-runs of Indian dramas which are undermining our own industry. In these critical times this invasion from our know enemy is perhaps the last thing we needed.

It is about time our media industry prevented this from happening and take elaborate measures to help our nation familiarise itself with culture. It is our duty to adhere to our own norms and traditions and help our local media industry boost. The Pakistani television shows should be made so compelling and interesting that the foreign content could be a soon-forgotten, bad habit.
