Afghan President Hamid Karzai will arrive here on Wednesday on an important visit to Pakistan. Diplomatic sources told he would be accompanied by new Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmay Rasul and other key cabinet members. Afghan president is undertaking his tour to Pakistan immediately after the Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kiyani visit to Afghanistan. President Karzai will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and will exchange views with them on a set of issues including Pak-Afghan relations, Hilmand operation, the prevailing security situation in Afghanistan and regional affairs. Sources told president Hamid Karzai would also demand of government of Pakistan to release Afghan terrorist commanders, which Pakistan had arrested a few days back and they were being interrogated. Afghan President Hamid Karzai will stay in Islamabad for two to three days. His visit to Islamabad is aimed at taking into board the political and military leadership of Pakistan on the existing regional security situation particularly matters related to Afghanistan. This will be President Karzai's first visit to Pakistan after his re-election last year. President Karzai's visit will contribute towards further strengthening brotherly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan and in deepening and broadening multifaceted cooperation.
