RAWALPINDI On the directives of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Mohammad Iqbal Khan, police during a successful action against kite sellers confiscated more than 200,000 kites and 10,000 chemical strings by arresting an accused here on Sunday in jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Pirwadhai. Police party under supervision of SHO PS Pirwadhai Malik Tahir and SHO PS Gunjmandi Raja Shakeel Ahmed raided a three-storey building in Muslamabad area and recovered 200,000 kites and 10,000 chemical twines. The kites and strings were to be used during Basant. CM Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had ordered strict action against kite sellers throughout province. According to the police, the cost of confiscated kites and strings is Rs 4 million. Police have also arrested Sh Naeem from the site. CPO Rawalpindi Rao Mohammad Iqbal while appreciating the performance of police has announced cash prize and honorary certificate for them.
