Due to rampant unemployment and serious law and order situation in the country, we have been witnessing a wide-scale brain drain of professionals and promising youth from our country with every passing day. Many brilliant professionals such as doctors, engineers, technicians etc. have been switching over to other countries of the world for earning their bread and butter. This really is proving very costly for Pakistan in the sense that these professionals can contribute a lot for the development of their country if they stay and serve here. But this seems to be difficult for them for the reason that they fail to get suitable jobs in the country in consonance to their professional degrees. If we have to stop this phenomenon of brain drain, then we have to create more and more job opportunities for them so that they are able to keep themselves here and build their career both in terms of promotion and money by working really hard. All our qualified professionals are our real assets and we must make a habit of protecting them within our country by creating conducive environment. ABDUL SAMAD SAMO, Karachi, March 7.
