PESHAWAR - Four school going children were injured as a result of remote control blast near Wahoo-Full in Badhabera area of Peshawar on Wednesday.

The sources said that the explosive device was planted near a bridge inside a handcart and was detonated with a remote control.

At the time of the incident, four students were on their way to school while earlier an army convoy vehicle also passed from the same area, however, the blast occurred when the students just arrived at the site.

Soon after the blast Edhi Ambulances rushed to the site and started rescue activities.

They shifted the injured students to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where they were provided emergency medical treatment.

The injured were identified as Fatima d/o Shah Khalid, Abdul Waheed son of Abdul Wadood, Naveed son of Rahimullah and Arif Gul son of Spen Gul.

The doctors at the hospital said that condition of Fatima was serious.

Soon after the blast a large number of police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raizul Islam said that a person who belongs to Miranshah was arrested but it cannot be said if he was involved in the blast. ‘Apparently, it seems that he was running away, which is a natural human reaction when an explosion takes place’, he said.

He said that the bomb was 3 kilogram in weight and was planted in a handcart near the bridge.
