Eight hurt as factory roof collapses



MULTAN - At least eight labourers were buried alive when the crumbling roof of a cupboard manufacturing factory caved in here in Tughlaq town area on Wednesday. Although all the labourers were recovered alive by Rescue 1122 personnel, the condition of some of them was stated to be precarious in the hospital.
The residents of the area told journalists that the factory was located along the railway line and its building was crumbling. “Today the roof collapsed when a train passed through the building and all the labourers working inside buried alive under the debris,” they added. The Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot after learning about the incident and recovered the labourers. It may not be out of place to mention here that it’s second building collapse incident in a row as another three-storey building collapsed in Sabzi Mandi on Tuesday.
Three workers died in that tragic accident.
