RAHIM YAR KHAN - The 11th Rohi Rang Mela organised to pay tribute to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (RA) concluded on Wednesday after three-day celebrations in Cholistan.

Chillah Gah Conda Jhok Fareed was named after Kawaja Ghulam Fareed as he often spent his time on the spot. The Mela, which is organized in the memory of Khawaja Ghulam Fareed, was inaugurated by successor Khawaja Mueenuddin Koreja.

He said that Khawaja Sahib’s love for Cholistan was very clearly mentioned in his poetry too.

A number of people converged at the event where many camps were set up to reside during the three-day event.

Different stalls of specials things made by local people were also established to promote the Cholistani culture. Special arrangements were made for horse race, camel shows, Kabaddi or fight and motor cycle race.

In the horse race, Nawa Kot Palki won 1st position, Sadiqabad Wahor 2nd position and the Cholistani horse Sona 3rd position.

In the camel show, Cholistani people decorated their camels like bride and the people of the area liked camel performance and appreciated their organisers. In the motorcycle race, Kanu Mehar got 1st position, Jam Abdul Majeed got second and the 3rd position was taken by Jam Atta.

Besides, Cholistani singers paid rich tribute to Khawaja Ghulam Fareed. During this colourful event, the Kawaja Fareed Foundation set up a medical and eye camps to provide free medicines. The camps were organised by the Al-Khidmat Foundation.
