LAHORE–The Lahore High Court on Wednesday suspended the transfer orders of a disabled lady teacher from girls High School of Kamoonki to Laloopur.
Anees Banoo, who has walking disability, appeared before the court of Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan and submitted that she was serving as deputy headmistress of the Government High School Kamoonaki.
She contended that the Secretary Schools Education Department had issued orders of her transfer to a school of Laloopur which was quite far from her residence.
She further pleaded that she could not travel the long distance on daily basis owing to her disability, while the government policy also gives protection to women teachers in transfers to remote areas.
She requested the court to cancel her transfer orders and allow her to serve in the Kamoonki girls high School.
After recording her contentions, the court disposed off her petition suspending her transfer orders and allowed her to work in Kamoonki School.
