TOBA TEK SINGH - Additional District & Sessions judge Chaudhry Ghulam Murtza handed down five-counts death sentence to three persons Kashif alias Kashi, Khalid alias Foji and Arshad and four-account death sentence to Ghulam Sabir, Ghulam Jeelani and Abdul Rauf in a five-murder case of chak 299 GB.

The court acquitted Ashiq, Mukhtar and Younis giving them benefit of doubt. All nine were booked by city police for murdering five persons of a family to take the revenge of contracting love marriage with a girl of accused family by a boy of victim family on February 26, 2009.

DCO for facilitating passport applicants: DCO Syed Javed Iqbal has appealed to the federal interior ministry’s director general (passport) to resolve the problem faced by the local passport applicants.

While forwarding application of labour leader Tariq Mahmood, DCO said in his recommendation letter that the citizens had to go to Faisalabad repeatedly first to apply and then to get the passport.

He urged him to provide the facility to the public in Toba because Faisalabad is at distance and they have to face great trouble.
