RAWALPINDI – The cross-examination of two prosecution witnesses in former premier Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case could not be conducted in a trial court on Thursday owing to lawyers’ strike being observed to denounce the thrashing of two lawyers over canteen evacuation issue at the hands of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) officials.
Taking up BB murder case at Adyala Jail by Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi Number 1 Special Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman deferred the proceeding till 11 March 2013 in PPP Chairperson BB assassination case. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar, the two prosecution witnesses Dr Abdul Rehman, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122, Ghulam Muhammad Naz, the firefighting officer, and District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Causality Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Muhammad Ashraf, whose statement had been recorded by the court, were also present in the courtroom.
