ISLAMABAD - Pakistan No 1 U-14 tennis player Syed Nofil Kaleem reached the finals of the Asian Tennis Federation Junior Circuit Championship at Khalifa Tennis Center in Doha, Qatar after defeating Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals in straight sets on Thursday.

Nofil started to play aggressively, followed by long rallies and hit forehands on lose balls and never allowed his opponent any chance to settle down in the match and won it comfortably. In the first set, Aziz put up a decent fight and forced Nofil to commit unforced errors, but Nofil managed to dictate terms finally and took the first set 6-4. In the second set, it was one-way traffic as Nofil played his natural aggressive game from the baseline and easily took the second set 6-2.

Talking to The Nation, Nofil said: “It will be all Pakistani final as Dubai-based Pakistani Mujahid has also won his semi-final match and will vie with me. I am looking forward to take the title to shut all those mouths up with my performance, which are talking so much against me without any reason.”
