MARDAN - A government girls’ primary school was damaged in an explosion in Akram Abad village in Katlang area late Wednesday night, sources said.

The sources said that explosive devices planted by the militants in the building of the Government Girls Primary School in Akram Abad Kati Ghari village in the limits of Katlang police station went off late night, causing partial damage 2 rooms, veranda and boundary wall. Police reached the spot and collected pieces of evidence.

The local police also launched search in the nearby areas but no arrest could be made.

It is to be noted here that in the current year suspected militants accelerated their activities in the district and in the current year suspected militants targeted 6 government schools, targeted anti polio team, targeted a house of ex employee of ISI, targeted house of an well-known industrialist, targeted BHU, tower of a private cell phone company.
