KARACHI – Despite presence of heavy contingent of law-enforcement agencies, violence goes unabated in the City as eight more persons, including two Rangers and a police personnel lost their lives in separate incidents here on Thursday.
Bodies of two Pakistan Rangers, Sindh personnel were recovered from Mewa Shah graveyard, Pak Colony within the jurisdiction of Pak Colony police station.
Police said that victims were identified as Hawaldar Munir Ahmed Bhutto, 44, and Hawaldar Ejaz Ahmed Baloch, 33. Police said that unidentified culprits kidnapped them and later dumped their bodies at an abandoned place after torture.
Police said the victims belonged to intelligence wing of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and went missing since Wednesday while performing duty in Lyari.
The bodies were moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. Later, the body of Ejaz was moved to Lasbella, Balochistan and Munir’s to Panu Akil, Sindh after funeral at Malir Halt. Meanwhile, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was killed at Bhittiabad Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar within the remits of Sachal police station.
Police said that victim Mehram Ali Channer, 43, son of Ishaq Ali Channar was standing near his residence where unidentified armed riders came close and opened fire at him. Resultantly, he died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for postmortem. Police suspect that the motive behind the incident was personal dispute.
Elsewhere, a labourer was shot dead at Gulsha-e-Ghazi, Baldia within the jurisdiction of Mochko police station.
Police said that Muhammad Javed, 38, son of Muhammad Shabbir, was going somewhere when unidentified armed rider shot him multiple times and managed to flee. Resultantly, he died on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for autopsy. Police said that deceased hailed from Swat and suspect that the motive behind his killing was personal enmity.
In another incident, a man was gunned down in Khokharapar No 4, in Khokharapar police precincts.
Police said that deceased identified as Aleem Raja, 40, son of Ashraf Raja was sitting outside his house, when two armed riders opened fire on him. Resultantly, he sustained critical bullet wounds and died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for postmortem. The motive behind his killing has yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, two strangled bodies of men were found from Khairabad Northern bypass, in Manghopir police precincts.
Police said that deceased identified as Maqbool, son of Nawab, and Iftikhar, 24, son of Mansoor were kidnapped by unidentified culprits from somewhere who dumped their bodies at said place after killing them. Bodies were moved to ASH for medicolegal formalities.
In yet another incident, a bullet riddled body of a man was found from Rexer Lane, Lyari, in Pak Colony police limits.
Police said that victims Abdul Sattar, 35, son of Muhammad Hayat, was kidnapped by unidentified culprits who later dumped his body at abandon place after shooting him. The body was taken to ASH for postmortem. Police said that deceased hailed form Multan. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
