SIALKOT: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a development programme worth Rs11 billion for export-oriented Sialkot city, a district officer said.
The ADB would spend the funds for improving water supply, sewerage system, sanitation, solid waste and infrastructure development on the modern lines in Sialkot city through Punjab City Improvement & Investment Programme. The district coordination officer of Sialkot told newsmen that the ADB would spend the money for providing improved facilities for the people of Sialkot.–STAFF REPORTER
He said that urban transport service would also be launched in Sialkot for providing the better transport facilities. He added that the district administration has also selected 130 acres of land in outskirts of Sialkot for dumping trash there. The urban matters experts of Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited various congested residential, commercial and industrial areas of Sialkot city.
