Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) government has banned the sale, purchase and the exhibition of 16 publications of pro-freedom writers.

Two among the banned books were written by Hurriyat leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who was sent to gallows on February 11, 1984 in New Delhi.

According to a press release issued by AJK government, the banned books were included Jammu Kashmir Book of Knowledge, wounded Memory, Kashmiriat Part One, Knowledge of Jammu and Kashmir, Guide Map of Ponch and Map of Jammu and Kashmir state, Kashmir and Partition of India, Bitter Facts of Kashmir Issue, story of fleeing from Srinagar prison by Maqbool Butt, Who am I, Life and Struggle.
