Powerloom owners up against TMA

HAFIZABAD
The Powerloom Owners Association took out a rally against the TMA Hafizabad for arbitrary order to shift powerlooms outside the city.
Led by Powerloom Owners Association President Qazi Iftikhar Ahmad and Chairman Seith Abu Bakar, the rally participants raised slogans against the TMA and called on the TMA administrator to withdraw “what they dubbed” uncalled-for order.
They said that in 1978, the TMA had ordered shifting of the powerloom factories outside the city limits and they had shifted their factories to Mian Da Kot, Jagganwala Road, Mughalpura and Mohallah Rehmatabad but now again the owners have been ordered to shift the factories outside the city limits, which, they said, is unjustified as this industry has already facing crisis.
Meanwhile, the Kassoke Police have smashed a working still in Shamir Dinga village and arrested Nazim, son of Khushi Muhammad Bhatti on the charge of distilling liquor.
On a tip-off, the police raided Shamir Dinga village and arrested the accused. The police seized ten litres liquor, one drum of ‘lahn’ (raw liquor) and distilling apparatus.
A case has been registered against him accordingly.
