KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Information Ms Shazia Marri has said that PPP government is making efforts for political stability and strengthening of democracy in Pakistan adding that provincial government has also taken concrete steps to restore democratic climate in Sindh. She was talking to people in an open katchery at her office on Wednesday. The Minister listened to the grievances of people, who came from all over Sindh, and issued directives for their solution. Marri said that no nation could prosper unless ensuring basic rights of its masses and it is unfortunate that during the last nine years the people of Pakistan were not only deprived of their constitutional rights but they were unable to get basic rights. Minister Information further said that presently Sindh is facing acute problems but the PPP government would leave no stone unturned to solve them with the help and cooperation of the people. She said that PPP leadership does not believe in the politics of revenge and the process of reconciliation, as envisioned by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, would continue under the leadership of party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Referring to 12th May incident, Shazia Marri said that people of Sindh would never forget that bloody episode when innocent persons scarified their lives. She paid rich tributes to those martyrs and hoped that such incidents will not take place in future. The Minister reiterated that Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has also assured an independent inquiry into the 12th May carnage so that culprits involved in the incident could be taken to the task. She assured that present coalition government would solve the problems faced of the people in Sindh.
