GUJRANWALA - As many as 190,320 candidates will appear in Intermediate annual 2010 (composite) and first year examinations. Some 338 centres have been established to conduct these examinations transparently, said Chairman Gujranwala Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Prof M Zahid Butt while addressing a press conference at BISE campus on Friday. He stated that intermediate composite examination would start on Saturday (today) in which, 101,590 candidates would participate while 88,730 candidates would participate in first year examination scheduled to be held on 25th. The BISE had established some 184 centres for female candidates, 141 for males and 13 joint centres for composite examinations, he added. He revealed that the BISE had conducted orientation workshops to train staff and all efforts had been ensured to facilitate candidates during examination process. Chairman BISE observed that strategy committees had been established at district level, which would be functioned under supervision of DCO of each district while control rooms at tehsil levels would monitor the whole system. Section 144 has been promulgated in the division and RPO had also been requested to depute cops around examination centres especially which had already been declared sensitive, he added.
