Director General Inter Service Public Relation Maj. Gen Athar Abbas refuting reports that Taliban militants have started remerging said that scenic valley Swat is under the control of the administration. In an interview with a private TV channel Maj Gen Athar Abbas said that it can't be even speculated that Taliban militants would be able to make their space again in Swat. Swat valley is under the control of the administration. With regard to recent suicide attacks in Mingora Athar Abbas said that these are just isolated incidents to create panic amongst the public. He said that recent act of violence in Swat are being done by small groups and this shows the weakness of Taliban. He said that the armed forces are fully vigilant in the valley and it has become impossible for the Taliban to carry out their activities. He said that in order to stop incidents of murder additional security is being provided to political personalities and citizens. Athar Abbas also lauded the cooperation of the locals in tracing out Taliban elements and termed it as an encouraging step.
